Holden Makes the Call – TeamVodafone to Race Commodores

Reigning V8 Supercar and three-time Bathurst 1000 Champions, TeamVodafone, and its drivers, Craig Lowndes and Jamie Whincup, will race Holden Commodores from 2010.

Holden Executive Director Sales, Marketing and Aftersales, Alan Batey made the announcement at a press conference held at GM Holden headquarters in Melbourne today.

Ambrose Finishes 22nd At The Brickyard

Marcos Ambrose has collected a solid 22nd place finish in the Allstate 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway in Indiana today.

Ambrose’s consistent run at the ‘Brickyard’ means that the Australian maintains 18th in the 2009 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series standings after 20 races.

Casey Stoner and Nicky Hayden crossed the line in fourth and fifth place today to secure a top team result for Ducati that confirms the forward steps taken with the Desmosedici GP9 in recent weeks.

A top five finish for Hayden is the result of relentless hard work and dedication from rider and team since the start of the season and his best qualifying and race performances of the campaign so far represented a source of huge satisfaction. The American delighted his home crowd not only with his performance but also with a special ‘stars and stripes’ livery, that will also be available on the new Ducati 848, launched in the USA two days ago.

Ambrose Finishes Sixth In Spectacular Daytona Finish

Marcos Ambrose has claimed his fifth top 10 finish of the 2009 Sprint Cup season with a sensational sixth place in the Coke Zero 400 at Daytona International Speedway in Florida today.

The race ended in spectacular and controversial circumstances, as race winner Tony Stewart and NASCAR wild child Kyle Busch made contact on the run to the chequered flag, resulting in a spectacular crash that Ambrose was able to avoid.
