Ducati MotoGP Team riders Casey Stoner and Nicky Hayden were in competitive form in qualifying practice for the USGP at Laguna Seca today, with the Australian sealing a front row start for tomorrow’s race and the American qualifying on the third row in eighth place – the best grid position of his debut season with the Italian factory so far.

The opening day of free practice for the US Grand Prix took place at Laguna Seca today with Ducati MotoGP Team riders Casey Stoner and Nicky Hayden back on track just six days after contesting the Dutch TT at the Assen circuit in Holland. A 10,000 kilometre trip and eight-hour time difference have not made life easier for any of the riders but for Stoner in particular this promises to be a particularly taxing weekend, with the Australian having suffered from physical exhaustion at the past two rounds.

Ambrose Eager For Daytona Night Race

Marcos Ambrose is excited about his return to Daytona International Speedway for the Coke Zero 400 in Florida this weekend.

Ambrose finished 17th in his Daytona 500 debut earlier this year in the #47 entry of JTG Daugherty Racing and now gets his second crack at the 2.5-mile superspeedway at the venue’s 400-mile night race.
