BMW rider Troy Corser will miss Sunday’s WSBK races at Brono after crashing heavily in this afternoon’s first qualifying session.
In the closing stages of the session Corser suffered a highside as he applied the power exiting a right hand turn at the Czech circuit.

Corser suffered concussion in the fall and to make matters worse his own bike hit him in the crash. Corser could not remember the incident and went to the hospital in Brno for more X-rays, further checks and a precautionary CT scan.
“The doctors in the hospital were very pleased with my rate of recovery overnight and so there was no reason for me to stay in another day. All my stats were fine and I felt pretty good, apart from my upper chest area which took the brunt of the impact with the bike,” said Corser.
Although the tests revealed no broken bones or serious damage, Corser has stretched ligaments to both collarbones preventing him from riding. Instead Corser had the unique experience today of going round the service road on a scooter and observing the action from the other side of the Armco fence.

“It was a bit strange watching from the other side of the armco this afternoon and I hope that is the only time I have to do it this season! I prefer to be on my bike, on the track. I will get straight back into training as soon as I can and then get ready for Silverstone – and another podium,” said Corser.
