Challenging Sandown Weekend For Orrcon Pair

Mark Winterbottom and Steve Richards had a challenging time at the Norton 360 Sandown Challenge, races 13 and 14 in the 2009 V8 Supercar Championship Series, in Melbourne across the weekend.

The Orrcon Steel-backed pair pushed hard during both of the two races held around the 3.1km circuit over the weekend to finish as the 13th (Richards) and 15th (Winterbottom) highest point scorers.

Rick Kelly Leads Laps But Soft Tyres Fade At Sandown

Jack Daniel’s Racing driver Rick Kelly has again emphasised the speed and potential of the new team at the Norton 360 Sandown Challenge in Melbourne today.

Kelly led three laps and ran in the top five for the majority of today’s 65-lap race, but the timing of a Safety Car went against the dual Bathurst winner and fading soft ‘option’ tyres saw him fall down the order late in the race.

Mcnally Suffers Early Race Steering Damage At Sandown

Hi-Tec Oils Racing driver Mark McNally has suffered an early end to his fourth V8 Supercar race with contact leading to steering failure in the Norton 360 Sandown Challenge in Melbourne today.

McNally made contact with Michael Patrizi on the approach to Turn 2 on lap 7, resulting in broken steering and suspension on the front right corner of the #16 Hi-Tec Oils Holden Commodore.
